Meet Shae Rose

On January 19, 2010 we got to see our daughter Shae Rose for the first time. We switched to the waiting child list in the Fall of 2009 and asked God for discernment to know when we saw our daughter there would be no doubt it was her. God was faithful as we knew the first time we saw her. Shae will be 3 1/2 years old March 2nd and she is in Xi'an City. She is at Starfish Foster Home under the care of Amanda de Lange. We received our pre-approval on January 26th and our Letter of Acceptance on Febraury 8th which we promptly signed and sent back the next day!! God has placed so many people in our path over the past month that have met Shae and had pictures and/or videos of her and wonderful stories to share with us. On February 4th we got to see and talk to our daughter thru Skype. Amanda, the director, set this up and it was unbelievable to actually see and hear her talk. We have been in contact with a couple of families that have adopted 2 of Shae's friends from Starfish. The Chellis family lives in Maine and adopted Lily last March and the Strite family lives in Virgina and adopted Ellie last month. We are so grateful that Shae will be able to keep in contact with some of her friends. Now we just have to wait for our travel authorization which should come sometime next month and then we go to get Shae about 4-6 weeks after that.

  1. Hooray! I'm personally hoping we get TA next week and travel on March 31st. I think it's a good possibility! I want to be out of Guangzhou by the time the trade show starts April 15th. Come on, TAs!
